1. No accounts, no server-side data
Audionix does not require you to sign up, log in, or create an account of any kind. There is no Audionix server, and no user database — the app has nothing to store about you because it never asks who you are.
2. Your music library
When you point Audionix at a folder on your device, it reads the audio files in that folder to build your cassette library — titles, artists, durations, and embedded artwork. This scan happens entirely on-device. File contents and metadata are never uploaded anywhere. Library data (which cassettes exist, their names, play state, and your settings) is stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage, and is removed if you uninstall the app.
3. What does talk to the internet
- Cover art & metadata lookup. When you use "Fetch Metadata" or look up a track/cassette online, Audionix sends the track or cassette title and artist (text only — never the audio file itself) to the iTunes Search API to find matching artwork and metadata. This is a standard, unauthenticated public API call; no personal identifier is attached to it.
- Internet radio. The Radio tab uses the public Radio Browser API (radio-browser.info) to list and stream internet radio stations. Station audio streams directly from the station's own server when you tune in.
- Standard app-store & OS-level diagnostics. The platform you installed Audionix from (Apple App Store or Google Play) may collect basic, anonymized crash and install diagnostics under its own privacy terms. Audionix itself does not add any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
4. Permissions Audionix asks for
- Storage / media access — to read the music folder you choose and let you pick cover art. You choose the folder; Audionix never scans your whole device.
- Audio & background playback — so music keeps playing when the app isn't in the foreground.
- Battery status — purely cosmetic, powers the OPR/BATT indicator light on the deck.
5. What we don't do
- We don't collect your name, email, or any personal identifier.
- We don't sell or share data — there's no data to sell.
- We don't run ads or ad-tracking SDKs.
- We don't build a profile of your listening habits.
6. Children's privacy
Audionix does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
